About us
The Merseyside Electrical Trade Association – META, – is a not-for-profit organisation from the electrical sector across the Merseyside area.
We’ve been going strong for over 25 years, and in that time, we’ve raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for local charities.
Our two main events – the much-loved Summer Golf Day and The festive Christmas Charity Lunch – are great chances to get together, have a laugh, and raise money for some brilliant causes in our community.
META is built on the amazing camaraderie within the electrical wholesale trade. We’re blessed in Merseyside to have an industry full of big-hearted people and even bigger characters and we are extremely grateful to every one of them.
Whether you’ve been around for years or a newcomer to the scene, you’ll always find a warm welcome (and probably a good story or two) at a META event.

Summer Golf Day
Not-for-profit, but full of purpose.
- Our annual META Charity Golf Day is more than just a great day out—it’s a chance for the Merseyside electrical trades community to come together, network, and raise money for causes that matter.
- Held at courses across the region, this relaxed and friendly event features a 1:00 PM shotgun start, team competitions, on-course challenges, and plenty of laughs along the way.
- Over the years, we’ve proudly raised funds for charities including Zoe’s Place, Claire House, Macmillan Cancer Support, and the Electrical Industries Charity. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or a total beginner, it’s a brilliant afternoon for a great cause.
- Join us, swing for something bigger, and help make a difference—one hole at a time.
The festive Christmas Charity Lunch
A FESTIVE FINALE WITH REAL IMPACT.
- Each December, the Merseyside Electrical Trades Association hosts its Christmas Charity Lunch — a heart-warming afternoon of connection, celebration, and giving back.
- Held in the heart of Liverpool city centre, this special event brings together tradespeople, suppliers, and supporters to enjoy a festive meal, raise vital funds, and reflect on the year’s achievements.
- With guest speakers, raffles, and plenty of seasonal cheer, it’s the perfect way to wrap up the year while supporting brilliant causes like Zoe’s Place, Claire House, Macmillan Cancer Support, and the Electrical Industries Charity.
- Whether you’ve been involved all year or are joining us for the first time, the Christmas Lunch is your chance to be part of something meaningful and festive.
